Large print word searches
Five word searches on subjects most people know well. Each has its own word lists, its own grid size and its own set of directions, so they are not the same puzzle with a different title.
Kitchen word search
Our easiest word search: a grid eight letters across, six short kitchen words, across and down only.
Garden word search
Flowers, vegetables and garden tools in a grid ten letters across. Eight words, across and down.
Four seasons word search
One season per puzzle. Eight words in a ten-letter grid, with one gentle diagonal added.
Bird word search
Garden birds, water birds and bird words. Ten to find in a grid twelve letters across.
Travel word search
Cities, countries, the seaside and journeys. Twelve words, in two levels: straight lines only, or with diagonals.
Which word search should you print?
Start with the kitchen word search if the size of the letters matters most. Its grid is the smallest on the site, eight letters across, so each letter is printed as large as the sheet allows, and it lists only six short words. It is also the quickest to finish, which suits a short session or a first try.
The garden and the seasons word searches are the middle of the range, ten letters across with eight words. The garden grid hides words across and down only. The seasons grid adds one diagonal, running down to the right, and each puzzle takes one of spring, summer, autumn and winter, so it is the one to choose when you want a puzzle for a particular time of year; Next and Previous bring up the other seasons.
The bird and the travel word searches use a grid twelve letters across, so the letters are a little smaller and there is more to find: ten words for birds, twelve for travel. Travel has two levels, one across and down only and one with both diagonals. None of the five ever writes a word backwards. That choice is deliberate: a word spelled backwards is much harder to spot, and these pages are meant to be easy on the eye.
